Shots are good and only he can play it. But what matters at the end of the day is how many matches one won for the country. That seperates the great from the best. He can never be in the league of Steve Waugh or Vivian Richards. Even one can easily verify that Dravid stands a step taller than Sachin.

For all the doubting thomassas - the Pak trip of 2006 was a rejoinder of his skills - masterly in all ways. He is still the best and there is no doubt in that statement. Let's all hope that he continues in the same vein over the next 15 years, after all batsmen can play beyond 40 - so why not our Sachin????

I have only one thing to say abou sachin. Watching sachin bat is the greatest thing in itself and it gives immense pleasure . I really dont think watching any batsman gives this pleasure. Not even ponting , lara or inzimam . His shots are really superior to all others . Viv richards plays shots with brute force but sachin plays them with very sweet touch and no one can match him .He is very great and i really dont like to think about the day when he leaves the cricket arena . I really wish he will play 2 more world cups , break all the records ,set some records which will never be broken . Probably my last wish is to see him win the next world cup and silence all his critics who say that he plays for records and is not a match winner. Enjoy till he lasts other wise we will regret it

Hi Guys, it is good to see Sachin performing gain- It was just a matter of time. I fellow coming after a gap of almost a year. Please don't expect him to perform from day one.
Secondly, I really pity people who say that he can not win matches for Indian team. Mind you fellows, when this guy plays a good inning he makes the game so easy that it doesn'tt seem to be that tough for others to close the match with a win. And his world cup records for all the world cups beginning from year 92 will prove that he is a player who plays at crucial moments. maximum runs in world cup matches with an average of almost 50 runs proves. Maximum number of man of the match awards in Oneday cricket proves his ability. How come he is not a match winner. Just because you people can not analyse the game well- please don't post comments against Sachin just because you have something to write. He is a true genius and never had pool of cricketers in the team as Stever Waugh had in his time to support when he played. Mind it, Sachin use to play alone and the wickects use to fall at the other end. How can you expect one to play and win match without support at the other end. It is not cricket being played in your neighbourhood where in the last man plays alone, but that does not happen in international Cricket. One needs a siupport at the other end. I count that was the only reason why Sachin could not be viewed( I am using viewed, just coz his records sho that he has won much more matches for India than any other cricketer in the world) as Steve or Viv Richards.

Sachin's a great player, everyone knows it as his record and bat speaks(i am a fan of him).But only question that arises is his handling of pressure at crunch situations ....
if one looks at his records only in the finals throughout his career... its not even near to his batting talents ..... i mean,anyone who has played above 300 odi's should be able to handle pressure under these situations ....one can say people expect a lot of him he is also only a batsman , a human being .... but the thing is he has been in-form in a lot of series in league matches but what happens to his form in the finals? he surely has to prove this wrong in the near future.....in handling pressure .......? this message is not to hurt anyone ....

His body is subject to wear and tear like any of the other cricketers , but above all his mental strength is impeccable. I think if his mind has enuf stamina to face any kind of hostile opposition , i feel he can continue for another good 4-5 years.
When life is tough you gotta face the challenge, and for someone like Sachin who's been worshipped as a cricketing God by millions of his fans, challenge is something which is appetizing

Mr Puranik, have you seen the way your beloved Sachin got out in the first innings against England? If he was THE ONE, he would definitly have stayed there and saved the match for India. hi gays ...i dont know about anybody else but if somebody ask me ....i can say anytime sachin is the best player in the world ...no doubt some player had good record but if you can go over all sachin take number one...if you can mark ..he can play every side of ground ...he can play any kind shot..and any kind ground..
Actually there is no need to say like he is the best and he is the great becuase it has already proven but what i want to do is to pray for him so that he could pay Stunning games in worldcup and win world cup for us

For all those who have abused sachin here, see he has repeated the sharjah heroics again in australia!! tht too after 10 yrs...can anyone believe it--th is SACHIN!! ppl say tht he dont score in important matches--but every match is important -- in a wrold cup every match is important--sachin scored in all matches except the finals and ppl abuse him..this is horrible...nonsense.. ppl who dont have common scence really abuse him...CRICKET IS A RELIGION AND SACHIN IS THE GOD...
